What's the minimum age?
14 years old.
Do I bring a lunch?
We keep the day short so we don't break for lunch.
We recommend a hearty breakfast and provide granola bars to hold us over.
On Fridays, we end the week with a big ol' barbecue.
How do I know what I'll be doing when I come?
You don't. In return for the flexibility of getting involved,
we ask that our volunteers be flexible regarding the type of projects we're doing.
We promise that all the projects are fun and that if you come a few times,
you'll get to do a bunch of different things. There are days that you can
pick your project, but it's best to plan for the best and dress for the worst.
What should I bring when I come?
All you really need are an open mind and a sturdy pair of shoes.
We'll have a free T-shirt and water bottle for your on your first day. We
humbly request that you bring the bottle with you every time you come back.
Your call on the T-shirt.
How do I get credit for my community service hours?
We try to keep the paperwork to a minimum.
If you sign the attendance sheet every day and bring back your registration
form the first time you return, we'll track all your hours and send you a
handsome certificate at the end of the summer.
You can leave all those silly forms your school gives you at home.
Can I bring my friends?
You can bring your friends, enemies, siblings, neighbors and
teammates. Everybody's invited to get in on the action.
This program is amazing. Where do you get your funding?
Thanks. Most of our funding comes from people in the
community who believe in what we're doing. Those contributions go directly toward the
projects we do, which is nice.
